EIS Sheffield, 27-28 February 2016.

Senior Men:
The accepted entries for the Men’s competition on Saturday, along with their current form, shows that this year’s National title is a wide open affair and could be decided by just a few centimetres. While established names such as Nathan Douglas, Kola Adedoyin and Nathan Fox will expect to  battle out the podium spots they will all certainly have one eye on last weekend’s winner of the BUCS title, Montel Nevers. 19 year-old Montel improved to 16.15m, and 2nd place in this year’s senior UK rankings, in taking victory on the same runway last Sunday, and will hope to consolidate that kind of form this weekend with a National title up for grabs. Guest competitors Arpinder Singh (India) , Thalosang Thshireletso (Botswana) and Ricardo Jaquite (Portugal) will also hope to put in good performances as they aim to impress their respective country federations.

 Senior Women:
A battle royale looks set between the 2 top ranked British Triple Jumpers going into Sunday’s Women’s competition with Yamile Aldama looking to become British Champion at the age of 43. Her main rival looks set to be the ever-consistent Sineade Gutzmore, but the likes of Angela Barratt, Lisa James and new British Junior Record Holder Naomi Ogbeta, who should all be peppering the 13 metre mark, should not be discounted if they can pull out a special leap on the big occasion.

Waiting for that perfect jump. That one perfect jump ...
