Our recent interview with Sam Trigg, currently studying and competing the University of New Mexico, has generated a lot of interest from young athletes wanting to know more about the benefits of, and how to go about, making the move to an American college.

Another of Britain’s top Triple Jumpers, Jonathan Ilori, studied and competed for the University of Missouri for 4 years before returning to London to set-up RightTrack Sports Consultancy last year. RightTrack specialises in advising and aiding anyone interested in wanting to make the move stateside to help progress their educational and sporting careers. As well as Jonathan, fellow Triple Jumper Nana Owusu-Nyantekyi and athletes Sarah Abrams and Rachel Hignett, all with personal experience of the US collegiate system, make up the knowledgeable team at RightTrack.

This weekend RightTrack will be present at the England Athletics U15 / U17 / U20 Championships at Sheffield to answer any questions on their work. You can also visit their website at www.righttracksports.co.uk for more information.

Before he headed up to Sheffield, we asked Jonathan about what RightTrack can offer those who are interested in becoming part of the US college system.

JI: RightTrack was founded with the aim of supporting and assisting student-athletes through the American university process.  The company has gained a reputation amongst organisations, universities, schools and parents as a source of invaluable information about the process and experience. We have a personal approach to recruiting and an unparalleled expertise in college track and field. We provide student-athletes with direct guidance on every aspect of the process – from SAT tutoring to communication with American coaches to scholarship guidance. No two athletes are the same and we offer each individual a tailored program to meet their needs. We have developed a network with the best academic and athletic institutions across the US, offering students direct channels to top universities. We, alongside our advising team of successful alumni, enable students to learn from first-hand experience. Ultimately we seek to ensure students have a successful, enjoyable and worthwhile time in the US.
